I'm V.
Your English Tutor!

With 12 years of experience teaching adult language learners in private language schools across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, I have taught more than 9,000 students in person, mostly at B1 to C2 levels on the CEFR scale, with occasional learners at A1 and A2 levels. I currently provide online lessons to students from diverse backgrounds and with a range of goals, including through Preply, where I achieved Super Tutor status with over 1,680 hours of teaching and a perfect 5/5 rating from 50 verified reviews. The main focus is preparing learners for exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, and OET. This includes supporting doctors with OET preparation, especially the speaking roleplay sections, as well as helping students aiming for high scores in the SAT Literature section.

I earned my CELTA certification in Izmir through Cambridge Assessment English. With personal top scores—40 out of 40 in the reading and listening modules of the Academic IELTS—and many students achieving perfect 30 out of 30 scores in the challenging TOEFL Speaking and Writing sections under my guidance, I have a clear understanding of what these exams demand. This experience allows me to break down each question type effectively, highlight common mistakes, and develop practical strategies for managing time and comprehension. When teaching grammar, I focus on explaining fundamentals in simple language tailored to each student’s needs. For general English and grammar lessons, I adjust topics to fit the student’s field of work or interest, covering everything from everyday communication to industry-specific language in marketing, logistics, architecture, and more.

Outside of lessons, I create original practice materials for IELTS and TOEFL that closely follow official exam formats. These include full-length practice tests with reading passages, writing prompts, and speaking tasks. My students can use these materials for independent study and review their work with me during lessons to identify mistakes and improve their skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can schedule a lesson by visiting this page, selecting your preferred class, and following the registration instructions provided.

Lessons range from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on your schedule, needs, and goals.

Prices vary depending on the type and length of the lesson. You can find all available options on my scheduling page. I also offer a free 30-minute discovery call where we can go over your goals and decide which options make the most sense for you.

I don’t believe a student’s financial situation should determine the quality of education they receive. Unfortunately, that’s often the reality. I do my best to stay flexible when possible, particularly for students from countries with weaker currencies or limited economic opportunities. If cost is a concern, you’re welcome to get in touch to discuss possible options.

My teaching hours are from 7:00 a.m. to midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST), seven days a week, 365 days a year! There is a 12-hour minimum booking notice, meaning you can only book lessons at least 12 hours in advance.

Some students prefer to book classes just a day or two ahead, but this can limit their options since popular time slots may already be taken. To secure your preferred times, it’s best to book well in advance.

When you visit my scheduling page, the calendar will automatically show available lesson times in your local time zone, making it easy to pick the best slots for you.

Yes. You can choose either a single lesson or a “multiple lessons” option. If you select multiple lessons, you can decide how many lessons you want, then choose the starting date, preferred time, and frequency (daily or weekly). All the lessons will be displayed, and you can manually adjust each one’s date and time if needed.

Some time slots may appear in yellow, indicating that they are already taken. In that case, you will need to select a different date or time for that lesson. After confirming the schedule, you will enter your personal information, then complete the payment to finalize the booking.

Once booked, you can view and manage all your lessons in your Student Dashboard, where you can track, reschedule, or cancel lessons at any time.

Yes. If you need to cancel or reschedule a class, you can do so directly through your Student Dashboard, where all your past and upcoming sessions are listed. You can make changes up to 12 hours before the lesson time. This helps keep scheduling organized and ensures fair access to time slots for all students.

I understand that emergencies can occur, so I usually allow each student one late rescheduling request as a courtesy.

Some of my test-prep packages include flexible scheduling, which allows cancellations or rescheduling even a few minutes before the lesson without losing that session.

Please review the terms of your specific package, and thank you for respecting the scheduling system. It helps everything run smoothly for everyone.

In most cases, I recommend taking 2 to 3 lessons per week. This helps maintain momentum, reinforces what you learn, and allows us to build on each session without losing progress.

Having only one lesson a week often isn’t enough. It can make it difficult to retain what we cover and slows down your progress. On the other hand, taking lessons every day may sound productive, but language learning doesn’t always work that way. There’s a natural limit to how fast our brains can absorb and retain new material. Some topics need time to settle.

More frequent lessons might be helpful if you’re on a tight deadline for an exam and have the time to dedicate several hours a day to practice. But even in those cases, I usually recommend spacing things out enough to allow for review and reflection.

So unless you’re in a rush, 2 to 3 sessions per week tends to be the most effective balance.

I offer a range of online classes designed to fit different learning goals. These include free 30-minute discovery calls to assess your current level and goals, focused 30-minute and 50-minute one-on-one lessons, and packages of five or ten 50-minute lessons for steady progress. These options work well for all kinds of schedules, allowing you to book lessons one at a time with no pressure

For intensive study, especially exam preparation, I provide 2-hour and 4-hour sessions focused on covering a large amount of material efficiently, with targeted practice and strategies. These lessons are ideal for test-takers who want to make significant progress in a single sitting. The same 2-hour and 4-hour sessions are also available as group lessons where you can invite up to three other students you know. Group lessons encourage peer interaction, creating a relaxed atmosphere that supports sharing ideas and learning from each other, while also being a more affordable option compared to individual intensive sessions.

I also offer 2-hour and 4-hour IELTS and TOEFL masterclasses for groups of up to twelve students. These sessions have a lecture-style format designed to cover a wide range of exam topics quickly and clearly. Masterclasses provide detailed explanations of exam structure, common challenges, and effective approaches to each section, with Q&A periods where students can ask questions. The focus is on delivering as much useful information as possible in a short amount of time to help students understand what the exams require and how to approach them.

To complement these lessons, I provide mock speaking exams and writing task reviews tailored to IELTS, TOEFL, and OET. Mock speaking sessions replicate real test conditions, allowing students to practice all speaking tasks with timed responses. I provide detailed feedback focused on fluency, coherence, pronunciation, and content, helping students improve through targeted advice. Writing task review sessions involve a thorough evaluation of students’ essays and reports based on official scoring criteria. I highlight strengths and areas for improvement, offering clear guidance on grammar, vocabulary, structure, and task fulfillment to help students raise their scores.

Yes, I offer a free 30-minute introductory session for every new student. You can book it through my scheduling page.

The Trial Lesson is a free 30-minute session for every new student. During this lesson, we discuss your English learning goals and expectations in detail. It gives you the chance to share your needs, ask any questions, and decide if my teaching style is the right fit for you.

With over 12 years of experience teaching English to more than 9,000 students across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, I focus on helping adult learners reach their goals. I currently teach online through my own website and Preply, where I am a Super Tutor with over 2000 hours and a perfect 4.99/5 rating from 60+ verified reviews as of November 9, 2025. I hold a CELTA certification and specialize in exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, and OET. Having personally taken the IELTS, TOEFL, and SAT exams, I understand what the tests are looking for, how examiners think, the strategies behind question types, common mistakes students make, and what learners truly need to succeed.

Yes, I use a combination of my own quizzes and original materials from my website alongside official practice resources from the test providers. For IELTS preparation, I work with the full Cambridge IELTS series, from editions 1 through 20, including the latest Cambridge IELTS 19 and Cambridge IELTS 20, released in July 2025. For TOEFL, I use the ETS Official Guide to the TOEFL iBT, Seventh Edition, published by ETS, which provides authentic practice tests and strategies for the exam. For OET preparation, we focus on the official practice tests provided by the Occupational English Test (OET) organization.

In general English and grammar classes, I draw from a wide range of respected reference materials and course books based on student needs. This includes the English Grammar in Use and Vocabulary in Use series by Cambridge University Press, as well as popular course books like Interchange (Cambridge), Passages (Cambridge), American English File (Oxford University Press), and New Headway (Oxford University Press). For career- or industry-focused lessons, I use specialized materials such as the Career Paths series by National Geographic Learning/McGraw-Hill, which offers books for fields like marketing, logistics, architecture, hospitality, and more. I also use the Cambridge English for Marketing book and other reputable resources published by Cambridge University Press and McGraw-Hill.

If students want to work on literature, I can help with classic texts in their original form or adapted versions, covering authors like Dostoyevsky, Dickens, and Shakespeare. I also use leveled readers and graded adaptations such as the Oxford Read and Discover series, Penguin Random House and Penguin Readers, which simplify classic and modern stories for learners at different proficiency levels.

No, you don’t need to purchase any books or software for the lessons. For test preparation, there are plenty of free exercises available on my site. For grammar and other topics, I usually provide the necessary materials during class. There are some paid quizzes on the site, but they’re completely optional and meant only as extra practice. Some students choose to buy physical books because they find it more convenient or simply prefer studying that way, but it’s not required.

To participate in classes, you will need a reliable internet connection and a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. While joining via smartphone is possible, using a larger screen like a tablet or computer is recommended to facilitate reading materials, note-taking, and active participation in activities. A webcam and microphone are required for effective communication during sessions, which are conducted similarly to other online classes or meetings via Zoom or Google Meet. However, if you prefer not to use a webcam or wish to keep your video off due to personal or religious reasons, that is completely acceptable.

Yes, you can join lessons using your smartphone. However, I recommend using a tablet or computer if possible, as a larger screen makes it easier to read, take notes, and fully participate in the activities.

I tend to give homework in the form of self-study units from English Grammar in Use, English Vocabulary in Use, or exercises from the course book. However, because I teach a wide range of students, from university students to professionals with full-time jobs and families, I keep the expectations flexible. I always try to structure each lesson in a way that it feels complete on its own and doesn’t rely on homework. More practice is always helpful, but I understand that not every student has the time, and it’s part of my job to make sure that doesn’t become a burden. It’s my responsibility to make sure real progress happens during class time.

For test-prep students, assignments may include reviewing grammar or completing specific sections of practice tests. This allows us to monitor your scores, identify any weak points, and make sure you’re improving not just during lessons but also when working independently. It’s common to do well with support in class but struggle when practicing alone, so this kind of homework helps ensure you’re actually ready for the test environment.

Generally, there are no prerequisites for my classes. However, it’s really beneficial if your proficiency level matches what’s specified on the booking page. While it’s possible to start from zero and prepare for tests like IELTS or TOEFL, my test-prep lessons require a good understanding of English so that the techniques and strategies I teach can be easily understood. These exams demand a high degree of proficiency, and there are no secrets or shortcuts to scoring high without a solid foundation in English. Therefore, it wouldn’t be effective to jump directly into test preparation without building your skills first. I recommend starting with the appropriate level class to ensure you get the most out of your preparation.

I use a 12-hour notice period to keep scheduling consistent and fair. When lessons are canceled or rescheduled too close to the start time, those spots go unused, even though other students might have wanted them. The standard is usually 24 hours, but I’ve found that 12 hours still gives me enough time to adjust the calendar while making things more flexible for students. This balance helps prevent unused time slots and keeps the schedule running smoothly for everyone.

Group lessons are a great option if you want a more comfortable and affordable way to study. For the smaller group format (up to 4 people), you book the session and can invite up to three other friends, classmates, or anyone you’re comfortable working with. This creates a relaxed environment where you already know the people in the room, making it easier to exchange ideas, ask questions, and stay engaged. These lessons are longer than typical one-on-one sessions, so even with multiple participants, there’s still enough time for everyone to speak and get feedback.

I also offer larger workshops with up to 12 participants. These are more structured and designed to cover a lot in a relatively short time. It’s a practical choice if you’re looking for a detailed overview of exam strategies, common mistakes, and practical tips and only have a few days or weeks to prepare. While they’re more lecture-style, each session includes a Q&A section so you can still raise specific concerns or questions.

Both formats are more budget-friendly than private lessons and can be a smart option if you’re trying to make your study plan more affordable.

At the moment, I don’t run open group classes where I bring together different students. Instead, group sessions are available only in a private format. You book the lesson and invite up to three other participants of your choice. This gives you full control over who joins the session, whether that’s friends, classmates, or colleagues. I do not currently arrange or mix students from different backgrounds into the same group.

Guaranteeing results in something as complex as language learning or exam preparation is unrealistic. Any educator who claims otherwise is misleading and may be acting unethically. Success ultimately depends on the student. Many factors influence your outcome, including dedication, schedule, study time, practice habits, current skills, and test-day conditions. If you put in the necessary work, positive results will almost certainly follow, but these are factors no teacher can fully control.

For example, a fitness trainer cannot lose weight for you if you don’t commit to exercising and healthy habits. When the hard work is done, results become inevitable. Similarly, there are no shortcuts in language learning; consistent effort and practice are essential.

What I can promise is my full support, offering effective tools and instruction to help you succeed. Your progress depends on the effort you invest in your own learning. I will support you every step of the way as much as I can and as my time allows.

No. All classroom instruction, lesson plans, materials, responses, emails, and messages are created and managed entirely by me and do not rely on AI. Some content on the site, such as the explanations for quiz questions, is AI-generated, but this does not influence or appear in the lessons in any way. Everything you experience in class is based on my 12 years of teaching expertise.

What Are My Passions?

I love gardening and learning about plants, propagating them and watching them grow. There’s something rewarding about nurturing life and seeing the results of your efforts. I also enjoy programming and constantly seek out new knowledge. When I take a break, I love brewing a good cup of coffee, sitting on the deck, and savoring the moment as I enjoy the silence.

As a hobbyist photographer, I find joy in capturing the intricate details of nature, especially through macro photography. Getting up close to flowers and insects allows me to showcase the beauty often overlooked in our everyday surroundings. I love exploring the textures, colors, and patterns that reveal the unique stories of each subject.

I’ve also been exploring web development and built this site from the ground up. I’ve taught myself key skills like HTML, PHP, and JavaScript, focusing on creating functional, user-friendly pages. I also put effort into making sure the site runs efficiently by working on areas like page loading times and mobile responsiveness. Additionally, I’ve learned SEO strategies to help the site perform better in search engines. For me, there’s a lot of satisfaction in seeing everything come together, knowing each part contributes to a well-functioning platform where students can find all the information they need in a convenient and visually appealing way.
